No longer a threatened species (though the threats are increasing) the common name Stream Lily correctly indicates this plant requires a constant supply of water. But there are no streams on the Best of All walk!? Explanation? The high country is often covered in cloud which provides a steady, misty rain, enough water for Stream Lily to survive and making this one of the few places you’ll see this species away from a stream or soak.
