Commonly seen as a bright green leafy epiphyte, these large ferns are a wonderful attachment to large canopy trees in most rainforest types, also along streams and in moist gullies. They are commonly seen with other epiphytes like Staghorn and Elkhorn ferns. The common name perhapsBird's Nest Fern is perhaps a human perception of what a bird’s nest might resemble; however, it is probable that none of the many local bird species actually use this fern as a nest.
